These paintings are of Queen Elizabeth and Francis Bacon
as a young man, they were painted by Nicholas
Hilliard, a famous court portraitist. British author
Jean Overton Fuller in her biography of Bacon interviewed
the geneticist, Professor Brisco Ford, Fellow of the Royal
Society who said, "If Sir Francis Bacon had brown eyes and
both his 'parents' (Nicholas
& Anne Bacon) had grey, the chance that he is
illegitimate is very high indeed. It would be down to a
mutation level less than 1 in 100,000."
